Provintsialy (2002)

A young couple, Pavel and Katerina (Cat), leaves the small provincial town of Bugrovsk, and leaves to conquer Moscow. Everyone has their own goal: Katya wants to become an actress, and Pavel wants to become a boxer. Upon arrival in the capital, the couple runs into trouble, after which Pavel ends up in a pre-trial detention center, and 'Cat' tries to enter a theater institute. Behind bars, Pavel meets John, a student from Nigeria, and Katerina meets Carmen, a charismatic girl who also wants to enter a theater university. After Pavel and John are released, they go looking for Katerina.
