After his Uncle Fernando's death, strong, virile Octavio, who has lived far away from his family for many years, returns to his native city to attend the funeral. Meanwhile, Ana Cristina's life is surrounded by mystery; adopted by Don Manuel, whom she considers her grandfather, she lived in a small cabin all her life, under the protection of Don Fernando, whom she loves as a father. After Ana Cristina and Octavio meet for the first time. evil Marcial tells Octavio that Ana Cristina used to be his uncle's girlfriend, and he starts hating her, thinking that she is just an opportunist, and doesn't miss a chance to offend her; Ana Cristina hates him for the rude way he treats her. But deep inside their hearts they love each other and realize that. However, things get complicated after the reading of Fernando's will and the return of Frida. Ana Cristina and Octavio find that there is a line of forgiveness between love and hatred, and that crossing this line means giving life to the heart.
