Javier (Pops) Verona a loving husband, father and rehabilitated criminal is revisited by his dark past when his only child Mari is stricken with terminal cancer. The cost of health coverage has left Pop's in a world of debt and the inability to continue treatment for his daughter. A turn of events occur when Tony, Pops closest cousin reappears after several years. Tony sensing Pop's desperation and presents him with a dangerous yet lucrative opportunity that can possibly get him the funds needed to save his daughters life. Tony introduces Pop's to his long time friend and business associate, Born. Born is far from the average drug lord, he is a wise and educated man who surrounds himself with intellectuals that take their craft serious and make no mistakes. Pops is not easily convinced about Tony and his true intentions, but with his daughters health diminishing each day, he must risk losing his family and his freedom to do whatever necessary to save the life of his only child.
