Iris is a French woman in South Korea, penniless and jobless, who spends her time walking barefoot and resting on rocks. She casually becomes a French teacher to two young Korean girls and implements a unique method, asking them personal questions whose answers she writes down on cards for them to practice, believing that language is about feeling and not memorization. The lessons become recurrent, as does her consumption of makgeolli, making the scenes as absurd as memorable.
