When Anthony Caldwell comes home early from work on Christmas Eve, he finds that his fiance Evelyn Porter has tragically committed suicide. After her neighbor calls the 911, a swarm of police personnel arrive, including Detective Blake Collins and her partner Detective Dylan Maxwell. Upon investigating the scene, Blake discovers Anthony's coat hanging suspiciously far from the body, and prematurely brings him in for questioning. After 23 hours, Blake finally starts questioning Anthony, and she is relentless. Just when Anthony snaps, seconds away from what Blake thinks to be a confession, Detective Maxwell interrupts them, informing her that legally Anthony can't be held any longer. Anthony is released and sent back home, but Blake is still certain that he was the true killer. Is there more to Anthony's story than he's letting on? Or is Blake's intuition wrong enough to lose her her job?
