The fictionalized format of the program will present an enterprising reporter on a roving mission all over greater New York. Ultimately his quest is designed to uncover the people's choice of the man or woman who most dominated the news of the year and in doing so left an indelible mark - for good or evil - on history. His assignment has been suggested by a noted publisher, who appropriately enough, is James A. Linen, publisher of Time. Ben Gazarra, young actor who catapulted to stardom in the current Broadway play "End as a Man," will portray the inquiring reporter. His real-life wife, actress Louise Erickson, will appear opposite him in the show in a scene set in the United Nations building. Since 1927, the editors of Time have been featuring a "Man of the Year" cover story annually. Last years choice was Queen Elizabeth II.
