Surprise! (2023)

When a prank goes awry, 4 best friends and an awkward outcast witness a murder that threatens their hard-won success and obsessively sunny dispositions. Bummer. Surprise satirizes the way capitalism co-opts the language of feminism while demanding the performance of femininity. This has created our current problem of T-shirt feminists, people who are more interested in their own individual success and "good vibes" platitudes than liberation. This toxic positivity embodies the violence of racism and misogyny and dismantles nothing.
