Lazare le pâtre (1966)

The action is set in the middle of the 15th century in Tuscany. The prologue takes place in 1440 in the setting of an inn in Fiesole; the following acts take place eighteen years later in the Medici Palace, in Cosimo's study, in the Council Chamber and in the Guard Room. After regaining power in Florence, Cosimo de Medici, who has no heir, is plagued by the intrigues of his nephew Judael, who wants to succeed him at all costs.
