Dad Jokes (2023)

A depressed middle aged, former stand-up comedian ends his stand-up career's 16-year hiatus for his son's college documentary project. Rob Gordon used to be a stand-up comedian, but he quit around the time his son Robert was born. As Robert sees old tapes of his father, he can't help but connect with a sense of contentment and confidence that his father seemed to have on stage. There was a fundamental disconnect and self hatred Robert felt with his dad after his parents' messy divorce and was so confusing. With the guilt of cutting off his own dad out of his life made Rob want to see his dad happy again.
