During the outbreak of WWII, German expansion across the European continent came to include the British territory of the Channel Islands. The Channel Islands, consisting of Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney and Sark, became the only British territories to be invaded, and then occupied, by Nazi-Germany. The occupation lasted for five long years, from 1940 to 1945. NAZILAND: Life in Nazi-Occupied Britain explores life under the occupation, as told by those who experienced it. Contributors include those who were evacuated to the UK as child refugees prior to the invasion, and those who stayed on the island's for the duration of the occupation - including author Molly Bihet.
