Menuet i Maarup (1987)

An English frigate runs aground during a Christmas storm in 1808 off Maarup Kirke in Vendsyssel. A Danish lieutenant happens to be in the area and is sent out to oversee the salvage. In the process he makes the acquaintance of the local pastor who is both a rationalist and quite enjoyable. Based on the text about the wedding in Cana, the pastor gives practical hints about what should be danced for the guest.
