In 1929, a German doctor and his wife escape the oppressive values of their homeland for the Galápagos. Their quest for a purer existence on the isolated Floreana Island is soon interrupted by the arrival of a German couple with their own desperate hopes, and a flamboyant baroness with grand ambitions.
