Pistolteatern in Stockholm, founded by Pi Lind and Staffan Olzon, was in the mid-1960s a leading experimental scene comparable to the Living Theater in New York. The name was derived from the initials of the founders. During Pistolteatern's period at Mälartorget 1964-1968, almost everything was ok. However, three rules applied. They would only perform pieces that couldn't or wouldn't be played anywhere else. No play was allowed to be played for longer than three weeks, except if it went very badly, in which case it was allowed to be played for four weeks.
