Newnan Strong begins with telling the story of how tornado alerts woke a county in the middle of the night to get people to safety. The audience will see the alerts people received warning them a tornado was on it's way and how they responded to those warnings. From there the storm hits, leaving Newnan in shock for a brief moment before neighbors, first responders, families and even city/county officials jumped to the task of assessing damage. As the story moves forward, the next few days after the tornado hit, stories of help begin to pour in all over social media. The EMA, EOC and other agencies, organizations and officials all receive information and begin responding in kind with ways to help those in need that are calling in for aid. As the city/county officials are scrambling to assist, residents from all over the county assemble to get to people who have been trapped, lost their homes, need help removing trees and debris, tarping their homes and finding meals. These citizens, organizations, agencies, officials, churches, clubs and schools pour out in droves to assist however help is needed. Teams start to form, and a community begins showing their resiliency even week after the storm stole so much from so many. From just before the tornado hit, to a few weeks and even months after, Newnan Strong is about taking a disaster that could have left a community weakened, to an event that will never be forgotten, but will also display how new bonds of friendship became the real hero of the community.
