En Magan (1945)

The son of a wealthy man from the countryside arrives in the city of Madras to pursue a better education. He falls in love with the daughter of a successful lawyer, but his father plans an arranged marriage for him. Feeling heartbroken, the young man joins the Indian Air Force to fight in World War II. His airplane is shot down over Burma, and his lover presumes that he has died. She becomes a wartime nurse, and one of her patients turns out to be her injured lover. They happily reunite and marry.
