The Heptameron is a loose adaptation of Boccaccio's 'Il Decameron'. Fiametta, a Renaissance noblewoman, kills her husband and goes to a party thrown as an escape from the plague spreading throughout Florence. She wants to confess to the bishop in attendance, but soon discovers that the disease is spreading inside the villa. She has to juggle her investigation into the plague, her host's surreal stories, and her burgeoning feeling for another woman, as she comes to terms with her actions.
