Martyrs of Striving (2021)

In the middle of the 14th century at the border crossing to the county of Württemberg: The two guard soldiers Volckel and Utz cannot agree on whether the plague ordinance brought into force by King Charles IV makes sense. Is this novel disease really as bad as everyone says? And does it make sense to close the borders right away because of it? When Death himself shows up at the border to bring the plague to Württemberg, the debate takes on unexpected proportions. - "Martyrs of Striving" is a black-humored reckoning with the trials and tribulations of global Corona politics, and at the same time a passionate plea for solidarity and empathy in times of crisis.
