Ego (2022)

Two former classmates, Hana and Freyja, go on a camping trip together. On the way into the wilderness, they reminisce about their school days. Freyja hurts herself, which causes the two to become increasingly irritated, as Hana seems to take no interest in Freyja's suffering. It becomes clear that Hana wasn't exactly Freyja's best friend back then and that there must have been many unspoken events between the two. Freyja's injury makes it difficult for her to walk and Hana has to take care of her. The further away from civilization they are, the darker their memories become, until both of them can't take it anymore and the situation escalates. However, the gathering darkness does not allow them to return for the time being. In the midst of this gloomy and encircling forest, one of the two suddenly realizes that they probably weren't just traveling as a couple. But without cell phone reception, rescue seems unlikely.
