Paradiso Oratorio (2003)

Based on Dante's DIVINE COMEDY, Dutch composer Jacob ter Veldhuis' PARADISO ORATORIO is a musical journey in search of beauty. Normally dealing in rock and electronic music, this piece is an attempt by the composer to counteract the trend of "doom and damnation" that he sees as pervasive in contemporary art. Aiding the composer in his vision of beauty are American soprano Clare McFadden, tenor Thomas Allen, and the North Netherlands Concert Choir and Orchestra.
