In the legendary Kannada Haridaasa (saint-poets) lineage, Sri Jagannatha Daasaru is a prominent 18th century Haridaasa who holds a remarkable place in the Daasa quaternary (ChatushTeyaru) with Sri Purandara Daasaru, Sri Vijaya Daasaru, and Sri Gopala Daasaru. He was an adept scholar in Sanskrit language from Maanvi town in Raichur district, Karnataka, India, who went on to author multitude of exemplary and unparalleled devotional contributions in Hindu mysticism and the Bhakti literature with "Jagannatha Vittala" pen-name (ankita).
