Moxie (2021)

In 2021 Alex is a father who has lost his child to a fatal disease. He turned to drugs to numb the pain of his boy's death. However, stressed by the unpaid hospital costs that have accumulated over the years, he seeks out an alternative way to get money. Alex unknowingly breaks into the home of a family with a sick child. After filling his pockets with valuables, He soon realizes he has set off a silent alarm and must attempt to escape before getting caught. He discovers a handwritten card beside and silences the alarm by inputting the date written inside. He feels a sense of regret wash over him after the knowledge that he won't be caught wears off. He fondly remembers Moxie and why he chose that name for his son in the first place. Moxie is defined as the ability to be resilient and courageous in the face of challenges. He makes the decision to let go of the pain that has been holding him back and to honor his son's memory by doing good things. Alex returns the family's belongings and cleans their home, leaving it in better shape than when he arrived.
