Hunter Stone (Louis Westover) and Charlotte Green (Mia Carter) are best friends and scientists from the year 2059. Together they finish building a time machine in the form of an Apple Watch from the year 2017. The human race has been decimated by a deadly, sentient virus that takes over a human body and uses it as a host, acting like zombies. When their base is attacked by three infected humans (Will Smith, Devon Ingram and Alfie Sadler), they decide that it is time to travel back to 2017 and attempt to live normal lives whilst keeping the timeline intact. Two of the infected humans make it into the base, right before Hunter shoots them both and they then travel back in time. However, the time machine is only safe for the person wearing the watch. The two of them are split up, Hunter ending up on the coast and Charlotte ending up in the middle of a field. Hunter realises that Charlotte put the watch on his wrist when he was shooting the two infected humans. However, the situation becomes dire when it is revealed that one of the infected men (Will Smith) made it into the boundaries of the teleport, and travelled back to 2017 with the two scientists. Hell bent on revenge, The Virus ignores all the humans in 2017 and sets out on finding the two humans that escaped it from 2059. Hunter is informed by the artificial intelligence inside the watch (voiced by Lois Mae) that The Virus made it back to the past with them. He finds a car and drives off in search of Charlotte before it's too late. Eventually, the two of them finally find each other and Hunter explains what's going on. It is revealed that Charlotte brought back a page from the book Hunter bought her six years ago (2053), and Hunter expresses the fact that this is dangerous and could effect the timeline in severe ways. The Virus then finds them, and a foot chase begins with The Virus chasing Hunter and Charlotte. The A.I. informs the two of them that The Virus is vulnerable when exposed to pure ethanol. They race to a pub, where they have to hide from The Virus, however Hunter is knocked out by The Virus and we see a flashback involving Hunter and his Dad (Darren Westover), revealing that Hunter left his Dad to die by the virus, and that he is haunted by grief. When he comes to, he realises that Charlotte has lead The Virus outside, and placed a glass of vodka on the side of the bar. Hunter picks it up and pours it over The Virus, sending it to the floor and seemingly killing it - but not before it can take one final slash, cutting Charlotte's hand open and infecting her. The two of them rush inside and the infection starts to take hold. The A.I. informs the two of them that it is the infected Charlotte that is the reason for the quicker extinction of the human race in 2017. Charlotte begs Hunter to kill her, and after a brief argument he does it. Stricken with more grief, he runs outside to discover The Virus is still barely alive and trying to escape, so he acts rashly and beats the struggling virus to death. Alone, Hunter sits on the side of the road, and the last thing we see him do is burn the page from the book that Charlotte brought to the past. He burns it in her memory, and also to protect the timeline.
