It's a typical summer's day at Da Vinci Ice Cream where local burnout skater boy, Kyle, rakes in his usual windfall of tips from his cougar clientele. They're not just there for the eye candy behind the glass though, clearly there's an unspoken transaction occurring. Kyle's up-tight and screw-loose boss, Mr. Harding, has a theory: Kyle's over-scooping. Mr. Harding fires Kyle under this suspicion, but Kyle won't hear it, chalking it up to just another row of antics from his kooky supervisor. Desperate to convince Kyle he's serious, he threatens to call his mom. This strikes a chord. Kyle demands proof to which Mr. Harding responds with a challenge; a Scoop-Off. They both scoop three scoops and weigh them. If Mr. Harding's are more precise than Kyle's, he's fired. If Kyle wins, he gets to be manager for a day. The Scoop-Off commences, spaghetti western style, as the frozen dairy quick draw climaxes into the moment of truth. The scoops are weighed, and Kyle comes out on top. During his managerial stint, Kyle lets us in on the secret. He's been packing the cones. His scoops are perfect, but his customers are getting an extra cut of the product. The tip jar remains packed, and Mr. Harding will never be the wiser.
