Louis, a cheery and joyful elderly man, returns home in hopes of finding his wife, Skylar. As he enters their house he looks over a strange, empty void. Confused and afraid he searches for his missing wife as vivid images of his past self dancing with a young Skylar appear in the darkness. In a state of perplexity the images vanish and he then envisions another older version of himself being assisted playing the piano by his wife. As Louis begins to panic, Louis' younger brother Sam enters which snaps Louis back to a state of recognized reality, the room now containing scattered pieces of furniture and items that spark his memory. Sam hands Louis a scrapbook which reveals the couple's story. Through images Louis see's how his life beautifully unfolded and that Skylar, though, has long since passed away. Louis reels from the shock and Sam begrudgingly acknowledges the truth; Louis is afflicted with Alzheimer's disease. It becomes clear this is far from the first time Sam's had to remind Louis of this fact. As Sam takes the scrapbook back and locks it in a cabinet, we hear Louis calling for his soulmate once again.
