The Wind Lion (2019)

The Wind Lion is a feature length documentary by Jonah Stern about a small Taiwanese archipelago called Jinmen, located just a mile off the coast of Mainland China. The film follows the experiences of six American teachers as they seek to build linguistic and cultural ties by teaching English to elementary school children. Through the islands' unique place in Chinese history, we explore how Jinmen has changed in the past, is adapting to the present, and will continue to evolve in the future.
