Based on real events that took place during the 60s and 70s, Joy follows the journey of three British pioneers: a young nurse, a scientist, and a surgeon. Aiming at treating female infertility, they begin research into reproduction and discover a procedure that eventually became "in vitro fertilization". Even facing opposition from the Church, the State, the media, and the medical establishment, they will not stop until they make the impossible possible.
