Themar is a small town in Thuringia, eastern Germany, where the right-wing populist party AfD became the strongest force in the last elections. In 2017 there was a far-right rock concert with 6000 neo-Nazis, the largest of its kind in the German postwar history, which culminated in the fact that the crowd collectively showed the forbidden Hitler salute, while the police watched inactively. Since then, there has been a rift through the town between right-wing extremists, their opponents and the residents who simply look the other way. The documentary shows insights into a right-wing parallel world and reveals how societal shifts to right-wing extremism works, but also how creative the protest can be, and - most importantly - that it exists.
