The Olive Grove

The Olive Grove is the story of a couple's bravery and sacrifice in World War Two Italy. Newly-married Alessandro and Violet are unable to stand by and do nothing while their beloved Italy is ravaged by war. First a ragged group of child evacuees take refuge at their Tuscan farm, followed by escaped British POWs, Jewish refugees and political enemies. Under the Germans' very noses, the couple risk their lives to help thousands to safety. As the front line draws ever closer to their home, their own safety, and that of the children in their care, becomes increasingly precarious.
