Zafar Iqbal migrated from Pakistan to Colombia in 1990 when the Islamic community in Bogotá was very small. The few Muslim families of that time were forced to reduce their cultural traditions to small meetings in the only mosque in the city. Today, he finds brothers and sisters in the Colombian community who have embraced Islam along with hundreds of Muslim families who have migrated from Pakistan, Egypt, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, Iran, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Argentina, USA and Trinidad and Tobago, gathered around 4 different mosques. We follow Zafar and the Al Qurtubi community, as they gather to celebrate one of the two main Muslim festivals of the year: Eid al-Adha. This celebration, which brings together foreigners and Colombians praying in the mosque and preparing food to share with the community, culminates with the sacrifice of a lamb, commemorating the test that God gave Abraham, when he asked him to sacrifice his son Ishmael.
