Slumber Party (2019)

South Africa has been plagued with a sordid past of institutionalized racial injustice for over a hundred years and in its 24th year of democracy racial bias continues to play a significant role on how people interact with one another, including teenagers. Thandi Ngema becomes the first and only black teenager to be ever given an invitation for an all girls' sleepover at her best friend's house, Simone Barret. As the night progresses, their racial differences get brought to light and their friendship is tested. Will these differences strengthen or create an even greater divide between them? Only the night will tell.
