Shimmer Volume 26 (2009)

Volume 26 was one of the most exciting events SHIMMER ever had to that point, held down to a 7 only because of a weak undercard. Tenille and Rain had a rather sloppy match that reminded everyone how green the Aussie still was and exposed Rain as a mediocre wrestler. She would compete on just two more volumes before disappearing from SHIMMER. The Experience also had their last match as a team against a thrown-together Roxx and Ariel. But there was a lot more good than bad here: Jessie McKay won a fairly exciting four-way match while Kong and Del Rey finished strong against Mercedes and Serena. (Kong's parting gift to Deeb before she left for WWE was, appropriately, an Implant Buster. ) Cheerleader Melissa took revenge on Wesna and her hated manager Annie Social in the most inspired contest of the year, and really came into her own as the heart and soul of the promotion. The night finished perfectly as the Canadian Ninjas ended the storybook run of Nevaeh and Ashley, while MsChif established herself even more with a great title defense against the equally beloved LuFisto.
