The Queen's Gambit (2019)

Set in 1940's Australia, "The Queen's Gambit" follows Maggie and Charles, a brother and sister during World War 2. With neither sibling able to fight, Maggie must learn to cope with the taunts directed at her brother whilst grappling with her inability to fight in the war. Directing their energy into their chess game, Charles attempts to teach Maggie basic strategy but fails, as her thoughts are elsewhere. Together they try to bring out the best in each other whilst being repressed by the society of the time.
