Cottonopolis (2010)

Depicts the pursuing of textural materiality of cotton production across several continents. The film hints at patterns and continuities of cotton's reach as a commodity which changes location and recycles economic models.It weaves scenes of contemporary Indian handloom and powerloom cotton manufacture with memories and thoughts of the megalopolis of hundreds of mills around the city of Manchester nicknamed 'Cottonopolis'.
