My Grandma Had A Gun (2020)

The amazing life story of Surika Braverman, one of Israel's most legendary female soldiers stories and one of only 3 female paratroopers during WWII. Surika's story was overshadowed by the mythology of her two colleagues, Hannah Szenesh and Haviva Reik that were captured and died fighting the Nazis and were turned into famous martyrs while Surika's story did not enter the pantheon of Israeli culture even thought she was the only female paratrooper that survived. Later she was one of the first female fighters to serve in the Palmach, the elite fighting force of the Haganah, the underground Jewish army during the British mandate in the land of Israel and a was one of the two co founders of the women corps of the Israeli defense forces ( IDF). This film has rare footage including the last interview with Surika Braverman before she died.
