In honor of the 2020 Women's Vote Centennial Initiative, "After The March" explores the 1917 imprisonment and hunger strike of Alice Paul in her fight for the vote. Through the eyes of Mary, a black prison maid, we see Alice isolated and tortured at the hands of a cruel prison physician. Alice, who had marginalized African American women in her dogged pursuit of suffrage, must reckon with her own hypocrisy or risk losing both her campaign and her life. Inspired by actual events.
