Daan is an emotional story set up in the city of Osmanabad in Maharashtra. Shiv Shankar, a daily wager is a building painter. His wife Nagmani, daughters Vaishali, Gauri, Radha and son Shiva lives hand to mouth with Shiv Shankar's small earnings.The family somehow survives and enjoy the festivals with neighbours and friends. One fine day Shiv Shankar falls ill. He is taken to a hospital where the doctor advices operation which will need huge. Luck by chance social worker Priya Pawar, reconizes the family and helps Shiv Shankar get operated reminding him of what his son Shiva has done for them. Shiva spends his life helping his friends and moving around aimlessly. He meets with an accident and is admitted in the hospital. Days of treatment do not improve his conditions and he slips into coma and is declared brain dead. Shiv Shankar meets social worker Priya Pawar. She explains him the benefits of body organ donations and how it will help others to gain a new life on behalf of his son Shiva. Shiv Shankar decides to donate Shiva's body organs for a noble deed, without the knowledge of his family. Shiva's sacrifice helped Shiv Shankar get operated free as per Government rule, with the help of Priya Pawar. A young child comes to meet Shiv Shankar in the hospital whose heart has been replaced with Shiva's. Shiv Shankar feels as if Shiva is living in the child. The film DAAN sends a social message to the society about the importance of BODY ORGAN DONATIONS and spread an awareness in the society.
