Ore: solid native rock from which precious metals may be obtained. This dance for a solo male is taken from a larger work, Buried Venus, which uses as a departure point the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. The film can be seen as the dance of Orpheus - out of the candle-lit crawl-space the body pupates then flies into the light, supplicating, commanding, embodying a consummation. The dance echoes the dark grandeur of the Bach Adagio.
