Riceboy Sleeps (2022)

Anthony Shim wrote, produced, edited, and directed Riceboy Sleeps, a 2022 Canadian drama film. The story of So-Young, a Korean immigrant single mother raising her teenage son Dong-Hyun after relocating to Canada in order to provide him with a better life, is based in part on Shim's own childhood. The movie had its world premiere as part of the Platform Prize program at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2022, when it also won the program's prize. In October 2022, it made its international debut at the 27th Busan International Film Festival.
