Ruben, an expressionless bookstore clerk tired of his work routine, at the end of his shift, meets a client who refuses to leave the bookstore before she finishes a book of poems. Understanding that she has only one poem left, allows her to stay and finish; but then she adds that without music she cannot read. Ruben informs her that it is forbidden to play music at that time, so she suggests he hum. He initially rejects the proposal, but she manages to convince him. He gradually becomes carried away by the humming and is interrupted when the client reads out loud. Ruben is enthralled with the stanza she reads. Moved and taken aback, Ruben watches her leave. Standing in front of the store window, like every other night, he is left alone in the bookstore but this time yearning for what she made him feel.
