Life Between Leaves

Rita at 59 is illiterate. After losing her daughter and son-in-law in a tragic car accident, she and her husband Sebastião raise their grandson Miguel. Rita goes to school in her senior years and while she learns to read, she experiences in her imagination the literature booklet "A Pedra do Meio-Dia". The characters will come to life in her imagination and will connect with her story, where the defeat of a giant from the magical kingdom is a metaphor for overcoming illiteracy.
