About Sweden's legendary film critic Nils Petter Sundgren who has followed the world cinema throughout his entire life. Mr. Sundgren's debut as the host for the film program Filmkrönikan on Swedish Public Television in 1963, where he had the opportunity to meet and interview directors, actors, and producers, for over 43 years. The larger part of Part One has an emphasis on people from the latter days of film history. The French New Wave is given large room and we meet Claude Chabrol, his wife Staphane Audran, Francois Truffaut, Isabelle Huppert, and Catherine Deneuve. These young French film makers were much of the inspiration to Swedish film makers in the 1960's, such as Bo Widerberg, and Ingmar Bergman, whom we also meet.
