Leap is a short film about the consequences of negative use of social media, mental health, teen suicide and finding hope after you thought all was lost. When Jess gets hoodwinked into sending compromising photos of herself to a boy she liked in school only to find out there was no boy and the group sent her photos around the school. Jess is broken, humiliated and cannot cope with the fallout and the teasing and tries to kill herself by jumping off a motorway bridge. Luckily she doesn't succeed but family life is massively strained now, her Mum is a nervous wreck and necking wine to numb the pain her sister who used to idolize Jess can't even look at her and her Dad just tries to keep the family together. Jess goes on walks without permission and ends up at the same field every day, chatting to the same horse. The lady who owns the filed Jo is a loner too and has her own secrets and grief and the pair bond over horses, Jess can be herself and discovers a passion for horse's riding she never knew she had.
