Lola Santiago is a smart woman who falls in love with a seemingly kind, loving, wealthy man. She later finds out that he's a manipulative psychopath. When she first meets Albert Rossi he gives her an instant, insane attraction and that's when she convinces herself that it is love at first sight, and truly believes she has found the perfect man to share her life with. At least, that is what she tells her best friend Jennifer. But when she realizes it's all an illusion, she's already trapped in the clutches of the wicked, evil man. Albert is twenty years older than Lola. He's passionate, well-mannered and often tells her that he will teach her many things. "Like what?" she asks. He never replies and gives her a cold look. Albert is a widower and refuses to talk about his late wife and mother of his 19-year-old son Noah, who lives with him, and Mrs. Murray, the guardian of their home whom Albert proudly calls their governess. When Lola smiles and says this is an obsolete term, he stares at her and bites his tongue then smiles and tells Lola that Mrs. Murray is their confidante and one of the few women he trusts. Mrs. Murray is kind but stern. She's been living with the family for over 30 years.
