A film director and a camera operator (subjective camera) are in a park, looking for a couple to interview. They see an elderly lesbian couple sitting on a bench. They decide to approach them and the director introduces herself and the project to them: it's a documentary called Humxns of New Love and it's about people who are in a long-term relationship with their exes. The elderly couple admits that they've been together for a while and they used to break up all the time. When they're asked how they ended up getting back together and who texted whom first, they're suddenly wearing totally different clothes. They tell the non-binary camera operator that it's all in their head, that their heart is broken and so is their perception of reality: they shouldn't text their ex. And you hear "CUT!". As the film crew is dismantling the set, the actual director tells in French a dark anecdote to one of the lead actors: a friend of hers texted her ex who never replied and one thing led to another, she went outside, got COVID and died. She shouldn't have texted her ex. COVID kills, you are either dying or mourning.
