Eddie "The Animal" Lopez was a member of an East Los Angeles Street Gang called "the Hazard". Getting in trouble with the law, he would found solace in the boxing ring and rise to be the #5 ranked contender in the heavyweight division, fighting the likes of John Tate, Tony Tucker and Leon Spinks in nationally televised bouts.
