Amelia Michaels is a forty-something actress and mother of two who is always just on the brink of success, as she rushes from one casting mishap to another - like the time she auditioned for the part of a corpse but was too lively, or the time she had to travel on the number 49 bus in rush hour, dressed in full 1940s regalia that would make Dita Von Teese seem grungy. She has no idea what's going wrong with her life.
