This program is intended to facilitate a gradual desensitization to the topic of death and dying. An intimate view of three terminally ill patients is presented. Many feelings experienced during the death process, such as alienation, distance, loneliness, sadness, and resentment, are depicted, and their significance and function of are discussed. Essentials of effective communication are reviewed. Although the program is somewhat slow and long, it is well integrated. The material is recommended for general use for physicians, nurses, social workers, and counselors
