Them

In a desperate attempt to cure his wife's early onset Alzheimer's, the brilliant but arrogant scientist, Dr. Robert Follis, performs experimental gene therapy on her. The improvements are vast and immediate... but there are catastrophic side effects. With an infection festering in her brain, Elanor Follis begins to change. She becomes hyper-intelligent... cunning... and before long, she's roaming the streets of Los Angeles looking to devour human flesh. Most specifically, by hallowing out the back of the head and consuming the base of the brain stem (like a dog chewing a bone for the marrow). But not all humans are food... some are chosen to be infected and join her. With no outward changes to the infected, they are virtually impossible to detect. And their cunning nature makes them nearly impossible to find. As "THEM" begin to grow in numbers, Dr. Follis, tasked by the CDC, must race to find a cure, not only to save the population, but also the life of the only woman he's ever loved.
