Red Clay Dirt is a rural homecoming, the story of a prodigal daughter (Rosa), who returns "home" after a 20-year absence to bury her great-grandmother. Haunted by the demons of her past from an incident that caused her to flee and never return, Rosa is bombarded with memories that lead her to come face to face with the murky, muddled and misunderstood race relations of blacks and whites in southwest Georgia. Rosa trips over a tree root and time travels to 1939, embodies the spirit of her Aunt Rosa Lee, and experiences a life-altering incident with the KKK that proves to be a catalyst towards healing and self-worth.
