The Mountain Can Wait

Tom Berry is a loner, a man content to live out his days in the wilderness on his own. A single father, he has raised his children with the same quiet and absolute dedication he brings to his forestry business, but now he's discovering that might not have been enough. Tom works away from home for months at a time managing his tree planting business. He harbors a dream of a home high up in the mountains where he may hunt and live at peace with his surroundings. At the opening of the film his son Curtis does a hit and run, where he leaves the girl he hit behind, left to die in a ditch. When Curtis turns to Tom during a visit to town, he does not understand his son's need and Curtis sets off fleeing. It is only when the police arrive that he realizes what has happened to Curtis and Tom, the hunter decides to track him down and find him before the police does.
